GEOCACHING 2006

 Profile for INDYpendent

5/1/06 - Our very first GEOCACHE.  It took two attempts because of an error in our GPS coordinates.

5/6/06 - This GEOCACHE wasn't as successful.  We found the waypoints okay but even after a hint from a friend, we could not find the cache.  We think it may have been stolen.

5/19/06 - Our suspicions were confirmed about the 'cache' being stolen.  The owners replaced it and we went back for a re-find, however the major flooding we have had may have washed it away.  Check out the pictures below.  This was the foot bridge we used to cross over to the other side to get the second waypoints.

6/12/06 - Finally found this one. If was very well hidden in standing dead tree.  We left the Geocoin.

5/6/06 -  Pulpit Rock - Another great adventure Geocaching, even if we didn't find the cash.

5/19/06 - This one we had Chase's friend, Jared with us.  In order to get the coords for the 'cache', we had to find and add up numbers from the grave stones.  This was the most fun yet.  Chase was thrilled that he found one of the stones, his first find.

5/20/06 - We're on a roll.  Our 4th find! Bow With a View.

5/27/06 - This one gave us a lot of trouble.  After several trips and a lot of searching, we finally found it and we got our first Geocoin!
5/28/06 - Here are pictures of our first cache in Maine.

5/28/06 - Second cache this day.  We couldn't resist this one, since it was near Chase's Pond.

5/30/06 - Wells Reserve.  We logged our 8th and 9th finds here.

6/13/06 - SHO me the way to go home was our 10th find.
6/13/06 - On the Right Track and On the Right Track II - Didn't find either one but we did find this old stone building.

7/4/06 - Here's the cache (Literally Great) we found in Plymouth after the Polar Caves.  The mosquitoes found us!

7/4/06 - Watering Trough Cache in North Conway, NH.  This one was fun because it was right on the main street of North Conway.  The first waypoint was a magnetic case well hidden in the park.

7/5/06 - Conway Scenic Overlook.  This micro was found by Indy.

7/5/06 -Whitaker Woods - The second find of the day.  We almost walked right over it because it was hidden so well.

7/6/06 - Cathedral Ledge - We came up here last year but didn't know about Geocaching then.  We had to make two trips and get some help from the Geocaching website but we did find it - very well hidden.

7/7/06 - Another Bridge to Nowhere - This was a quick and easy micro on an abandon bridge.

7/7/06 - We did If Cars Were Magnetic, You'd Save Gas on our way home from the White Mountains.  The Rainbow waterfall was spectacular.

7/9/06 - We just couldn't wait to log our 20th find.  Cullerot Park - Nice views of Manchester from on top of the rock.

8/13/06 - We found these two caches after our tour of The Castle In the Clouds.

Cape Cod Caches

8/31/06 -  Johnson Flume Cache - Chase spotted this one before we even knew to start looking.

8/31/06 - Sarah's spot - We forgot to pack batteries, so we were very happy to take the batteries that someone else has thoughtfully left.

9/1/06 - Harwich History - This one took us all over Harwich looking for dates and names on the historic buildings.  We learned a lot about the town of Harwich in our search for the cache.

9/2/06 - Drummer Boy - Cache was in the park near the windmill.

9/2/06 - Eagle Point - Final Cape cache for this trip but we saved some for next year.

Uncanoonuc Mountain Caches

9/4/06 - Kevin has been eager to get these two done since they are so close to our house.

Needle in a Haystack

9/10/06 - This one was a 'gas saver', a quick park and grab.

Dunbarton Gas Saver

9/13/06 - Kevin's high school friend, Jared Fleury, was here for a visit, so we introduced him to Geocaching.

Nikki's Puzzle Cache

10/15/06 - After a month of no Geocaching, we were all have withdrawal and couldn't wait to do some.  Nikki's Puzzle Cache was the first of three we did on the 15.

4 Wheelin Adventure - Guinea Road

10/15/06 - This cache was located near some old cellar holes.

Beaver Paradise

10/15/06 - Very pretty place.  We didn't see any beavers but evidence of them was everywhere.

Stark's Cache

11/12/06 - This cache was at the cemetery that we discovered last month.  We had no idea there was a cache there at the time.

Climb Every Mountain and Towering City Lights

11/24/06 - Two easy finds on a beautiful day in November.

Spikester's Swap Swapper

11/25/06 - Our first 'letter box'.  We only signed the log because we didn't have a stamp with us.

Four Wheeling Drive By Cache

11/25/06 - These four wheeling caches are fun.  The Sorrento did great in the mud puddles.

Poor Farm Treasure

11/25/06 - This was the 3rd one we found in the area on this day.  Geocaching is better in the fall when you aren't fighting the insects.

Weare Are We

11/25/06 - Our fourth and final cache of the day, than makes 41 total if your keeping track; we are.

Fast Food Toy Swap

12/03/06 - Almost logged a DNF because the clue wasn't much help.

Beaver Pelt

12/03/06 -  Very creative cover for the cache.

Games

12/03/06 - Third find in this park.

Devil's Steps

12/03/06 - Fourth find of the day.  Awful name but cool hid.

Lake Hickory

12/24/06 - First cache in North Carolina, took my dad, two sisters, two brother-in-laws, 3 nieces and 2 nephews.

Alexander Co Welcomes Geocaching

12/24/06 - Everyone liked Geocaching, so we did this one near by.  X marks the spot.  I think they are hooked!
